My name is Skye Migda, and I'm the creative force behind the beadwork you'll find here. As an indigenous Ojibwe woman from the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, my journey into beadwork has been both recent and deeply transformative.
In 2022, I had the privilege of attending an indigenous women's retreat where I was introduced to the art of beadwork. Inspired by the teachings and spirit of the retreat, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery and creativity. With determination and passion, I immersed myself in learning the intricate techniques of beadwork, drawing inspiration from my cultural roots and the world around me.
Each pair of earrings you see here is a testament to that journey—a fusion of tradition and innovation, born out of my newfound love for beadwork and dedication to preserving indigenous artistry.
By supporting my craft, you're not just acquiring a beautiful accessory; you're becoming a part of my story and contributing to the resurgence of indigenous creativity and culture.
Thank you for joining me on this empowering journey of self-expression and connection through beadwork.
